CMYK Serigraphy

My love for silkscreen printing only grew when I learned the CMYK process, a process in which the colors cyan, magenta, yellow, and key (black) are overlayed to create a colored image. The magic of halftones and the overlaying process was something I really fell in love with. This piece in particular showcases a childhood photo of my adoption group and I. The girls below were all with me in the same orphanage, we all were adopted at the same time, and we all grew up in Minnesota together. During a political time where it is the definition of what it it means to be “American” is under scrutiny, I created this piece, highlighting Americana imagery, with the picket fence and the green grass yard.
